Dear Mr. Brown,

We had been hoping that, during this economically difficult period, we could keep all of our employees, whether full- or part-time, with the company. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

It is with regret therefore, that we must inform you that we will be unable to utilize your services after May 1, 2009. We have been pleased with the qualities you have exhibited, and will be sorry to lose you as a helpful part-time worker at our company.

Please accept our best wishes for the future.

with regret(遺憾ながら)
